Call for Entries

WHAT IS TODAY'S PORTRAIT?

The Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery is asking artists all over the country to enter the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2009. The competition is open to portraits in all visual arts media.

The call for entries runs from June 2, 2008 - July 31, 2008.

The first prize will be $25,000. The winner and 50 to 60 finalists' work will comprise a major exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, opening in October 2009.

ARTISTS SQUARE
Artists are invited to show and sell their work each Saturday during the Farmers Market from 9am to 3pm. No set up fee and no commissions. Artists may set up in the square and on the grass near the water fountain on Georgia Street between Sacramento and Santa Clara.

Featured performing and visual artists invite interaction designed to move your mood and lift your spirit. Share your own creative endeavors and benefit from the exceptional conversation.

No dinner reservations except through the featured artist.
Please do not call the restaurant.
But PLEASE DO call AngarMora, the event coordinator, at (415) 897-7313, so he has an idea of how many people need to be accommodated.


5:15 to 6:00pm reserved seating for friends of the featured artist
6:00 to 6:45 open to all while seats are available
6:45 Prepared program begins.
$7.00 (at the door coverage charge)
20% Discount for dinner.
